IPF Picture Viewer and Creator
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This software is public domain and may be spread freely. The only requirement
I make is that this document and the accompanying source code files are
left unchanged and are spread with the programs.
I.P.F. stands for Impressive Picture Format and is just a 16 colour
conversion of the Electronic Images SPX picture format which is very good
indeed.
How do I create a IPF?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is very simple indeed. First either draw or scan an image several
screens in length (or convert from the PC) and save these as PI1 files,
making sure that they all have the same palette, as the palette
of the last picture is the one that is used. Then load in CREATOR1.PRG.
Press "L" and then "1" <Return> and then select the first picture file.
repeat this until all of your images are in memory. Press "V" and then
enter the number of the last screen. You can then scroll up and down the
image using the mouse or joystick. Press space to return to the menu
screen. To save your IPF just press "S" and enter the last screen of the
IPF. The file will then be saved ready to be viewed with VIEWER_1.PRG or
within STOS with the aid of the provided source code.
How do I view an IPF?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It couldn't be simpler. Load in VIEWER_2.PRG (Preferably from the AUTO
folder to leave more memory) and press space. Select the image you wish to
view end then scroll up and down the image using the mouse or joystick.
Press space again to return to the intro screen.
Packing an I.P.F
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you wish to pack your IPF when you've created it, simply pack it using
ATOMIK 3.5 or Icepack 2.4. The viewer can depack these files easily.
